Hey Everybody! I’m very excited to let you know that my stand up album is being released through 800 Pound Gorilla Records. You can listen to it exclusively on Pandora. Click here or the pic above to check out the entire album for free.
This is a big deal for me. I began this project a number of years ago in Washington, DC when I was still a correspondent on Redacted Tonight w/ Lee Camp. An amazingly talented group of DC filmmakers and friends came together to make this DIY dream a reality. The special was shot at the legendary DC Improv during Tig Notaro’s Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival presented by Brightest Young Things. Brendan Canty, the drummer from Fugazi, was kind enough to direct it. All awesome stuff, right?! Totally!
Unfortunately, very soon after the recording, my life exploded. As you can probably discern from the title of my album, I have a diagnosis of Manic-Depression, which is a mood disorder more commonly referred to as Bipolar Disorder. I had an intense manic episode that lasted several months and blew apart a lot of my life. It was really rough, man. I don’t wanna talk about it. Lol. When things finally got back on track, I proceeded to shop around the special, but I couldn’t get any takers. This always disappointed me because I’m so proud of “The Manic-Depressive Chocolate Fountain Operator” and everybody who came together to make it happen. The project has remained under the radar ever since.
UNTIL NOW, BAYYYBEEE!!! It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally getting a proper release, and I couldn’t be more thrilled and appreciative. It would be so cool if you could give it a listen and spread the word!! Thank you!!
Love,
John
This album in combo with your riff on Convo Couch is what may work with many on the edge of coming over. If we lose power due to some cyberattack on Nyc, it sure would be nice if we had a prearranged gathering spot or means to contact and support each other. Any ideas?
